Colostrum is generally safe for most people, but individuals with milk allergies should avoid it, as it is a dairy product. Bovine colostrum is unique in that it is naturally lower in lactose than regular cows milk. People who have lactose sensitivities (and NOT allergies) typically tolerate it well. Many people will try a small serving size at first to test their tolerance. If using powder they may start with a half teaspoon once a day, then twice a day (morning and evening) for a week. Then they work their way up to two teaspoons twice a day. People who purchase capsules try one capsule a day initially, and then work their way up to the recommended serving size.
